Mahatma Gandhi said You must be the change you wish to see in the world. I agree with him and am ready to Be The Change, which is why I am running for office.
The question is are you ready for change? And if yes, do you have the courage to stand up and Be The Change?
The type of change where you support, vote, and elect a candidate who will put you first and the corporations second.
I am Tina Burns and I am running for PA House of Representatives of the 124th district. I am running for my child, my grandchildren, and for all of those in the 124th that deserve better representation in Harrisburg. I am dedicated to serving you, not the multi-billion dollar industries that have taken advantage of and depleted our area, resources and residents for well over 60 years.
I grew up in a lower middle-class home in New Ringgold, PA with my two parents, and 2 older siblings. I am a graduate of Tamaqua Area High School. In my youth I served in the United States Coast Guard where I learned about leadership, serving others, and honoring my oath to defend the Constitution of the United States.
After leaving the armed services, I worked in a myriad of positions, such as, a truck driver, educator, operations manager, chef, horse trainer & groom, small business owner, HR, medical billing, etc.. I hold a Master of Science degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology from FIU and work in the healthcare industry. I am a problem solver who understands and knows how and what it takes to solve problems while working with others.
I am running because I believe in our small and rural communities and the people living within them. For far too long, those that have held political seats in our area have made and broken their promises again and again. I want to affect meaningful change that makes our area better for everyone no matter what their political party is or how much they may or may not have in their wallet.
Not much has changed in our area over the past 60 or so years. Our communities and those living in them are still struggling. Our local politicians continue to choose industry and personal corporate interests over you and I. Many of our area politicians, such as our current state representative have personal financial interests in and receive high dollar gifts and favors from industry lobbyists. Ironically (or not) those same politicians continue to support giving away BILLIONS of DOLLARS of PA Taxpayer money to industries like the fossil fuel industry and others every single year, all while we the constituents struggle to keep our lights on and children fed.
Giving away our hard earned taxpayer dollars to multi-billion dollar, record profit making companies seems unjust and unfair to me, how about you? Stop allowing these industry bought and paid for candidates to sit in our Harrisburg seat pretending to represent us, when really they are only representing themselves and their wealthy corporate friends. Be The Change by voting them out and voting in someone who isn't bought and paid for by corporations, and will truly represent the constituents voices in our state capital.
Aren't you ready for change? Aren't you ready to have someone in your corner standing up for you instead of for the multi-billion dollar industries? I know I certainly am. It's time for a change, it's time to Be The Change and to elect a candidate that will have your back instead of the back of price gouging billionaire companies.
Together we have the power to Be The Change because We the People of PA 124 deserve to be put first! Please vote for us by voting for Tina Burns.
